Kyoto, of course, was the former capital of Japan. The name "Tokyo" literally means "Eastern Capital."

The Kyoto Hannaryz, is a basketball team that originated from the bj league.
Despite not having won a championship, the club has maintained a strong fanbase and has yet to reach the next level of success.
Notable Japanese (Asian) Players to watch
Yuta Okada(6-2, G, Takusyoku University)
Although there has been very little international exposure, he is a scoring machine from Kyoto's Higashiyama High School. It would be great to see him compete at a higher level.
He aspired to turn pro early, having dropped out of college, and is now in his seventh season in the B.League.
Notable Foreign (Naturalized) Players to watch
Angelo Caloiaro(6-8, F, San Francisco)
I'll intentionally watch this video. Players who have competed at the top level in Europe truly have a different flair. Last season, he played in Osaka and averaged 17.2 points per game.
Head Coach: Roy Rana
I was incredulous upon hearing the news of his arrival in Japan. The renowned coach who led Canada to its first-ever world championship title at the U19 World Cup in 2017 came to Japan in 2022. After struggling for two seasons, will he be able to bring the team to fruition?
