This club is one of the most successful in the B.League, including on the business side. Although they’ve won the B.League title only once, they have never missed the playoffs and have reached the finals four times. Additionally, they hold five victories in the Emperor’s Cup—one of Japan’s unique and prestigious tournaments, where high school, college, and professional teams all compete.

The B.League has a close relationship with the Australian NBL, and Chiba has announced a partnership with the Sydney Kings.

*The current B. League chairman, Shinji Shimada, is a former president of the Chiba Jets.

The population of Funabashi City is approximately 640,000.

Notable Japanese (Asian) Players to watch

A treasure trove of talent.

Not only is Yuta Watanabe, the star who ended his NBA career, noteworthy, but also keep an eye on Bruce Kanno, who spent last season at D1 Stetson, and Aima Sekiya, who is likely to progress to a D1 school in the near future.

Yuki Togashi(5-6, PG, Montrose Christian)

Yuki is another great small player alongside Kawamura.

At the elite Montrose Christian program, led by Stu Vetter, he was teammates with Justin Anderson, who went on to play for the University of Virginia.

Despite receiving no offers from his desired school (George Washington!), he made his professional debut with Akita, which was then part of the bj league. After playing for the Texas Legends, he joined the Jets. Though still youthful, he is already 31 years old.

Notable Foreign (Naturalized) Players to watch

They are known for bringing in quality foreign players.

John Mooney(6-9, F, Notre Dame)

He was a key player in the paint who earned All-ACC honors at the prestigious University of Notre Dame and was named All-NBL with the Perth Wildcats. He has already spent three seasons as an indispensable pillar of the team.

Christopher Smith(6-4, SG, Utah State)

An undervalued super shooter. Played for the NBL's Brisbane last season.

Head Coach: Trevor Gleeson

This also showcases the Australian connection. A veteran with coaching experience in the NBA.
